  Tubular Worlds Demo
Tubular Worlds Demo is the demo and freely downloadable version of a new action game - and if this game has anything to it, it has action! Fast paced, smoothly flowing, easily master controls, Tubular Worlds has all the vital features of a good action game.
You play the game
flying over a planet of
molten rock and lava
beds. Enemy ships and
turrets bombard you
from all angles. By
destroying the right
target, you can get
bonus points and
chances to increase your
ship's speed and fire-
power. There are two
screen size options,
a quarter-screen size
which provides very clear resolution and smooth motion and a half-screen size which is somewhat easier to see, but not as smooth.
Tubular Worlds is a definite download for space game addicts. It is one of the better action game demos around and is not excessively large (2.2 megabytes decompressed). Check it out for a blasting-good time!

  Aaron (a system extension)
Aaron (no relation to the author) is a very interesting system extension which, once placed in your system folder, changes the appearance of a number of your Mac's interface features. Designed to help usher in the age of Copland before Apple gets around to doing it, Aaron updates the look of your windows, the system font being used, and a number of other smaller changes (new buttons and check boxes, etc).

To compliment the changes, Aaron comes with a font to install (Espi Sans 10) which replaces the existing system font - Espi Sans is, unofficially, the font Copland will be using. It is darker and bolder font and results in much more readable dialog boxes. Aaron also incorporates a simplified window shade box - when clicked, the last box on the right hand side of the title bar
automatically activates the window shade (no more double or triple clicking necessary). This is a nice convenience.
Aaron incorporates a number of new and interesting features. It is a definite glimpse into a number of changes the future Macintosh Operating System may incorporate. Aaron is a quick to download and easy to install. The latest version, while still a Beta testing version, has done away with a number of bugs found in earlier Beta's. It is now quite stable and "mostly" bug free. I highly recommend it!
